Decorating teen bedroom.?

Ok, so my parents said I can have my bedroom decorated- which I quite excited about, I have never had a bedroom that has been just mine until we moved into a new house.
At the moment, my bedroom is a quite dark blue and has an even darker blue carpet with specks of light yellow in it.
It is quite a small room and doesnt have much light (one small-ish window) I also have a quite big ensuite bathroom which is light blue and hot pink deocrated( I dont need to decorate that)
I have a double bed,
For colour schemes I was thinking light yellow on the walls, and gem coloured accessories (bright purples, pinks, lime greens, blues).
I wanted some advice for colours, I need it nice and bright and something that I won't grow out of, by the way I am 13...
Any ideas are welcome!!

Try decorating your room with two colors...like two colors that will contrast nicely with each other, colors that you like and you will not get annoyed with. I think you can try decorating your walls with like some abstract stuff like black or grey swirls against yellow walls. Or you could keep the blue look and paint one wall navy blue, and another a light blue, and so on.
Yellow with another color like grey would look really nice, so keep that in mind. For the accessories, i think lime greens would be nice with yellow. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by accessories when decorating your room, but lime green would look nice.
Definitely try yellow, if you wanna liven up your room, or you can go with a blue that you probably wont get annoyed with as you grow up.
