Chronic problem of towels bleaching out.... never been washed....?
I've had this problem for 3 years now. Every year I have to buy new towels. My towels bleach out as I use them. I have a brand new set of towels I bought two weeks ago, Martha Stewart brand. I washed them when I brought them home from the store, when they came out, they were fine. BUT as they have hung on my towel racks for two weeks (i only use them for drying my hands/face) gigantic bleach out spots have appeared exactly where I dry my hands/face off at. What's going on?! I'm so irritated with it! I don't have any cleaners in my bathroom and none of my soaps/facewash contain bleach. Thanks!
That seems weird. Maybe try a different brand of towel.
Do you use any thing on your face like Salicylic Acid? You know usually used in Acne medication? Maybe that is what is bleaching it out. Does the sun hit the towels? Maybe the sun has a more powerful bleaching effect on the wet cloth.
Maybe change to using white towels instead of colored that way nothing to bleach.
Really if it is not something on your face, then my inclination is to say it is the towel. If it were washing then the entire towel would fade instead of spots. So, again maybe getting like one towel of a different brand might help you tease that out. I would try Field Crest Royal Velvet just because, I know that is an excellent brand. Maybe a bit costlier so, just buy like one to try and see if that still happens.
