What lays small blue rubbery, perfectly round eggs? We found 5 under our oak tree today on the ground. (NH)?

They were the size of a large grape, perfectly round. I thought they looked and felt like those bath pearls filled with soap. They even had a seam so I thought they were man-made objects. They were all broken and had yellow yolk coming out. They def. fell from our lg. oak tree, one was in the bed of our pickup truck. We live in central New Hampshire.

Bird eggs should not be rubbery. If they were its because they didn't develop properly before they were laid. The mother probably threw them out of the nest because she knew something was wrong with them. She might lay another clutch of eggs this year or she might not until next year. The size and color is about right for robin eggs.
